You parachute into a zombie-infested quarantine zone with up to 24 other players, scavenge weapons from scattered chests, fight both the undead and everyone else, and try to be the last person alive as a radiation circle closes in.
reKILL (also at reKill.io) is a PvPvE browser battle royale built by solo developer TheoTheDev, who spent more than six months optimizing a custom engine built on Three.js with a C++ server. That’s not trivial for a browser game — and it shows in how smooth the matches run. It’s free to play in browser (desktop, WebGL2 required), with mobile support in landscape mode.

| Aim | Mouse |
| Shoot / Attack | Left Click |
| Roll / Dash | Spacebar |
| Pick up / Interact | E |

Spacebar doubles as the parachute control on landing and as a roll/dash mid-match. Rolling is a dodge tool, not just movement — a well-timed roll during a close-range firefight breaks the aim of both zombies and players. Most guides treat it as optional; in the mid-game when the zone forces encounters, it’s essential.
Loot, Weapons, and Leveling
Chests are scattered across the map and contain weapons, armor, and upgrades. Confirmed weapon types include pistols, shotguns, rifles, rocket launchers, flamethrowers, and daggers. There is no fixed loot meta — the official description explicitly states “every chest you open is a gamble”. You might pull a powerful shotgun or just a dagger. Planning an opening route around specific loot doesn’t work the way it does in more structured battle royales.
Alongside weapons, chests provide upgrades that persist for the rest of that match: increased damage, reduced cooldowns, enhanced armor, improved scopes, faster reloads, and temporary invisibility. Killing zombies and players earns XP. Leveling up mid-match unlocks additional skills and access to stronger gear. Your loadout and power level at mid-game is mostly a function of how aggressively you’ve opened chests and fought in the early minutes — passive players fall behind on levels and get caught underpowered when the zone shrinks.
The Zombie Mechanic
Zombies aren’t just background danger — they’re both an XP source and a detection system. Killing zombies earns upgrade points that accelerate your leveling. But shooting also makes noise, and noise draws more zombies toward your position. This creates a genuine dilemma most guides skip over: loud, fast zombie clearing gets you XP but announces your location to every nearby player. Quiet, melee-focused zombie kills sacrifice speed for stealth.
Players who understand this use zombies tactically — not just farming them, but sometimes intentionally driving a zombie horde toward an enemy position by shooting nearby and retreating. The zombies pursue the noise source, and whoever is shooting is creating the noise. If your health drops low, finding a quiet spot and stopping movement lets your character regenerate — health auto-recovers when you’re not being hit.
Radiation Zone
The outer map is surrounded by radiation that deals continuous damage. The safe circle narrows throughout the match, pushing all surviving players closer together. The radiation mechanic works identically to the storm in other battle royales — being caught outside the circle while looting or avoiding a fight is a slow, punishing death. Pay attention to the zone timer, not just the immediate threat in front of you.
One confirmed detail from the official game page: visibility upgrades from chests can reveal the positions of distant chests and safe zone boundaries. Prioritizing these early gives a meaningful map-reading advantage over players navigating blind.
How to Play Smart
▸ Open chests fast but don’t cluster them
Every chest you skip is one a player behind you might use to out-level you by the mid-game. But opening multiple chests in the same area means spending time in one location, which attracts zombies via noise and signals your position. Move between chests rather than camping a chest cluster — loot fast and keep moving.
▸ Farm zombies quietly early
Early in the match, the zone is large and players are spread out. That window is the best time to farm zombie kills for XP using melee or a silenced weapon if available. Gunfire in the first two minutes tells every nearby player exactly where you are before you’ve fully geared up.
▸ Roll toward, not away from, close-range shots
Rolling away from a close-range shooter keeps you in their effective range. Rolling toward them moves you inside the optimal range of most guns and breaks the aim adjustment. Closing distance fast on a shotgun user is counterintuitive but it works — shotguns are designed for that range and you’re already in it; closing further disrupts their angle.
▸ Let the zone do work for you
In the final stages, players running from radiation are moving predictably — toward the center. Positioning in the center early and waiting is often more effective than chasing. Zone-pushed players arrive panicked and low on resources. They’re easier targets than players you hunt down at full health deep in the map.
▸ Don’t fight a zombie horde you created
If you’ve been loud and a large zombie group is converging on you, relocate rather than fighting all of them. The XP from clearing a horde is not worth the ammunition and health spent against ten zombies when a player may be nearby watching the chaos and ready to pick you off after.
